Electrical engineering maintained its fourth place position in the rankings for a third consecutive year, and computer engineering moved up a position to fifth place – its highest placement ever. In terms of rankings among public universities only, our electrical engineering and computer engineering programs both placed second among their respective disciplines.

The College of Engineering tied for fourth with Caltech, and for the first time ever, all of the programs offered by the College placed among the top 5 of their respective disciplines. Among public universities, Georgia Tech’s engineering program ranks second behind the University of California, Berkeley. According to Magnus Egerstedt, the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair for ECE, these latest rankings show that hard work and dedication to excellence by the Georgia Tech ECE community are being noticed and appreciated by its peers.

“I find the innovation and ingenuity from our faculty, staff, and students to be incredibly inspiring and invigorating,” said Egerstedt. “All of these factors make ECE an excellent option for prospective undergraduate students who are looking for a challenging and rewarding educational experience.

“I truly appreciate the dedicated efforts of our faculty, staff, and students that have helped us to achieve the highest rankings that we have had for our undergraduate programs to date…and we’re not done yet!” Egerstedt continued. “Thank you, everyone!”
