Summaries

Summary Sentence: This info session will offer you the low-down on SLS as well as Service Learning and Community Engagament

Full Summary: This info session will offer you the low-down on SLS: why we exist, what we do, and why you will want to get involved, as well as a training session on Service Learning and Community Engagement (SLCE)! We will talk about what sustainability and building sustainable communities means here at SLS and we will highlight SLS courses, projects, events, and service learning opportunities. You will hear from fellow students about what brought them to SLS and why SLS is a great choice for students from all of Tech's six colleges.  The additional SLCE (Service Learning and Community Engagament) session offers students foundations for service learning and community engagement work in their courses.  Students who are in courses that have a specific SLCE component-- such as a required service learning experience or a real world project with a partner-- are strongly encouraged to attend.  The session will cover safe and respectful behaviors in communities unfamiliar to you; power, voice, and access to resources in Atlanta and the region; tips and best practices for partner-based collaborations off campus. The session will be interactive, and there will be snacks!
