Summaries

Full Summary: Architecture professor Ellen Dunham-Jones discusses her recent book on urban design solutions to redesigning suburbs.

Retrofitting suburbia is THE sustainable design project for the next 50 years – and it’s already started. Ellen Dunham-Jones covers this trend where dying malls are redeveloped into new downtowns, dead "big box" stores are re-inhabited for community-serving uses, and parking lots are re-greened into thriving wetlands. Presented by Ellen Dunham-Jones, Professor, School of Architecture.
