GE Smart Grid Challenge Winners

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. GE Smart Grid Challenge Winners

Team 2A tackled the challenge of improving the reliability of the power distribution system.
The group recognized very early on that the solution would require a multi-faceted approach
and developed a concert of technologies that, when combined in the right proportions, achieved the
overall goal of reducing the number and duration of power outages. This team was also recognized
for having the best presentation out of all the groups, receiving an additional $2,000 for their efforts.
 Team members include (left to right): Ravishankar Nilakantan, ECE; Ryan Anderson,ECE;
David Green, ECE; Peter Suh, AE; Xuebei Yu, ECE; and Eric Gebhardt and Anthony Maiello with the
General Electric Company.
