TREES AND CRAB SHELLS COULD REPLACE PLASTIC AND KEEP FOOD FRESHER

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. Georgia Tech researchers have developed packing material that promises to keep food fresher and reduce the plastic pollution of the environment. The material combines polymers from trees and crab shells, which are all biodegradable. Among the team members is School of Chemistry and Biochemistry Professor John Reynolds
