Greenfoot is free software that allows you to build 2-dimensional games and simulations using Java. Greenfoot is available at http://www.greenfoot.org.
Teachers will extend existing 2D animations and games and create a
game. Teachers can use Greenfoot as an introduction to Java and as an
introduction to object-oriented programming. We will discuss how to use
Greenfoot to teach conditionals and variables, objects and classes,
inheritance, polymorphism, and more.
Each teacher will receive materials including slides, scenarios,
exercises, lesson plans, and grading rubrics. This material can be used
in Beginning Programming, Intermediate Programming, and/or AP CS A.
