"Black Matter" is a one-act play written by an African American studies graduate student from Georgia State University that will be premiering at the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival this fall.
This theatrical production explores colorism, Black mental health, Black female empowerment, Black on Black crime, police brutality, the Black gay male, and the prison pipeline. Here is the tagline for the show:
“For years, Black and Brown people have been trying to affirm their humanity in the United States. Dance, sing, laugh and cry on this journey with these young men and women as they talk about their experiences with Black prejudice and ways they can seek liberation. “
