Congratulations to the 2018 Certified Healthy (CH) recipients! CH was created to acknowledge departments and organizations committed to fostering healthy lifestyle choices. The pilot program launched in spring 2017 and recognized 13 departments across campus for their commitment to creating a culture of health and well-being. This past spring we recognized over 25 student organizations and campus departments!  Health Initiatives Senior Director, Stacy Connell said, “We are excited to see this program grow so immensely over just one year. It’s truly a reflection of the entire Georgia Tech campus and their focus on well-being.”

Gold Certified Healthy Recipients include:

  • Strategic Consulting
  • Campus Services
  • Phi Mu
  • VOICE Peer Educators
  • Yesplus
  • Honors Program
  • Kappa Alpha Theta
  • KNIT Mentorship

Certified Healthy Recipients include:

  • Procurement & Business Services
  • Controller’s Office
  • Legal Affairs & Risk Management
  • Health Initiatives
  • Stamps Health Services
  • Office of International Education
  • Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience
  • CEISMC
  • Campus Recreation
  • Student Center
  • MBA Graduate Program Office
  • Sigma Phi Epsilon
  • Smart/Sharp Living Learning Communities
  • SHS Ambassadors
  • American Medical Student Association
  • Love Your Melon @ GT
  • Meditation Club
  • Molly’s Co
  • Band Club
  • Undergraduate Public Health Association

Striving for Certified included the Center for Academic Success. All three of these certification levels expressed a commitment to the five dimensions of wellness within their organization. Organizations that qualify as certified healthy in any capacity, are setting the right tone for the rest of campus. The programs and practices they establish internally set a precedent and show that they value their employees or members and create compassionate environments for them to flourish as individuals. Connell said, “Congratulations to each and every one of you for making Georgia Tech a great place to live, learn, work, and play.”

Health Initiatives accepts applications to get Certified every spring. Want to make sure your department or organization gets recognized this year? Email Sarah Morales to be notified when next year’s application becomes available.
