Conference Services kicked off the summer season on Sunday, May 13, when 145 Home Depot interns checked in for the next 85 nights. The Intern & Extended Lodging Program (ILP/ELP) launched in 2008, with a few dozen interns working for Atlanta-area companies and on-campus departments. Conference Services is slated to host approximately 800 interns during summer 2018. Interns work with companies like Coca-Cola, Home Depot and Turner Broadcasting, along with on-campus departments such as MSE and Aerospace Engineering.
ILP/ELP benefits the Department of Housing, as well as fellow Campus Services departments like Dining Services, Parking & Transportation & Buzzcard.
While Home Depot interns moved in on May 13, many others moved in on May 20, the official opening date for the ILP/ELP program, and most will stay until August 3.
