Staying healthy over the summer can be a challenge. From the dehydrating heat and humidity to the strong UV rays from the sun, practicing good self-care in the summer may look different from the fall and spring. This summer, Health Initiatives is challenging campus to focus on their health with a 10-week social media challenge.
Every Monday, beginning May 28th, Health Initiatives will post a weekly challenge to their Instagram account (@gthealthinitiatives). Challenges will include topics related to nutrition, sun safety, physical activity, gratitude, and more.
“This is an easy way to keep focused on your health and well-being this summer,” said Sarah Morales, health educator. “The challenges are designed to help you explore the five dimensions of well-being – physical, emotional, spiritual, social and professional.” Leah Galante, nutritionist, continued “Being healthy is more than just eating well and being physically active, we hope that this challenge reminds you to try something each week to improve your personal well-being.”
To participate, you can either like and comment on Health Initiatives’ post or post your own Instagram photo using #HealthyJackets and tagging @gthealthinitiatives. A winner will be announced each Friday and will win a prize related to that week’s topics.
