Roshan Pandian, a 2011 graduate of Georgia Tech (BS- CHBE) who minored in sociology, was recently featured in a policy brief on Sociological Insights for Development Policy. After receiving his BS, Roshan went to Indiana University, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in sociology.
The policy brief, published by the Sociology of Development section of the American Sociological Association discusses the declining developmental impact of manufacturing employment for less developed countries. Roshan was the 2017 winner of both the Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award from the Sociology of Development section of the ASA and the Terence K. Hopkins Student Paper Award from the Political Economy of the World-System section of the ASA.
