The Director of Professional Development and Postdoctoral Services in the Office of Graduate Education and Faculty Development is looking for a Ph.D. or masters student to assist with graduate student-focused career development projects this summer.  Interested graduate students should send their resumes and/or queries to jana.stone@gatech.edu.

Here is a description of the internship and the application process.

  • Start Date: May 14, 2018 or soon after
  • End Date: August 3, 2018
  • Hours/Schedule: 20-40 hours per week (>20 hours will require Graduate Co-op registration)
  • Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience
  • Location: Professional Development Unit, Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development
  • Job Description: The Professional Development Unit is looking for a graduate student intern to assist with stakeholder analysis for potential career development initiatives for graduate students. Our interests include expanding co-op/internship opportunities, e-portfolios, and other unmet career and professional development needs of graduate students.
    • Duties may include:
      • Conducting interviews with graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers
      • Collecting and analyzing data on career development programs and outcomes
      • Benchmarking peer institutions’ programs and resources
      • Drafting reports, literature reviews, and visual presentations
      • Creation of web pages and/or online resources
  • Qualifications: Current Georgia Tech Master's or Ph.D. student, preferably from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts
  • Required to be registered for classes at Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus in Summer Session 2018 (e.g., will be taking summer classes or will register for the tuition-free Graduate Co-op credit)
  • Excellent organization and time management, oral, and written communication skills
  • Experience conducting interviews and/or focus groups is strongly preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, and/or creation of web pages or e-portfolios would be a plus
