Summary Sentence: Summer program to prepare for law school

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Everyone talks diversity.  Eversheds Sutherland is doing something about it.

Established in 2005, Eversheds Sutherland Scholars is an intensive three-week summer program for recent college graduates headed to law school or rising college seniors from a variety of personal and cultural backgrounds. The award-winning program is offered at no cost and is designed to introduce students to the rigors of law school. Scholars are exposed to topics such as how to navigate the law school admission process, what to expect during the law professor to teach introductory classes in Contracts and Legal Research & Writing (with exams) and provides the scholars with a chance to hear from and visit with a variety of legal professionals. The program also includes a modest stipend.

The first year of law school can be challenging. The Eversheds Sutherland Scholars program helps to demystify the law school experience by exposing students to everything they will need to be successful. Eversheds Sutherland attorneys and other legal professionals lead intensive roundtable discussions that include:

  • Opportunities to Excel in Law School: Law Review, Moot Court, Mock Trials and Clinical Programs
  • How to Form an Effective Study Group
  • Tips on Building Relationships with Professors
  • Legal Research and Writing Techniques
  • Business Etiquette Training
  • Preparing for Life After Law School
