There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is to investigate a method for estimating parameters of the biological dynamic systems under the challenging situation. The challenging situation stems from the imbalance between the insufficient experimental data and the relatively high model complexity. To improve the conditions for parameter estimation, several experimental design and model reduction methods have been developed in order to increase the data or decrease the complexity of the model respectively. Instead of doing extra experiment to obtain more data, the proposed research reduces the redundancy among the data and allows us to estimate more reasonable parameters. Therefore, the proposed research can improve the parameter estimation when the extra experiment is not available.
