2018 QBioS Hands-On Modeling Workshop on Evolutionary Dynamics

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Do you want to build computational models of living systems but are not sure where to start? If so, the students of the Georgia Tech Quantitative Biosciences Program and Program Director Joshua Weitz invite you to a two-day the 2018 Hands-On Modeling Workshop on Evolutionary Dynamics.

During the workshop, attendees will:

  • Learn the basics of Matlab and/or Python programming languages (NO previous coding experience required!).
  • Discuss quantitative principles of evolutionary dynamics.
  • Build a simulation of evolution in action over experimental time-scales.
  • Evaluate potential ways to incorporate computational models of evolutionary
    dynamics into your research.

Programming Languages: Matlab or Python

Skill Level: No prerequisites
