No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Georgia Tech was named to Sierra Magazine’s “Cool Schools” list that recognizes America’s greenest campuses.
Georgia Tech was ranked 20th among more than 160 colleges and universities polled by Sierra Magazine. According to the magazine, this year’s rankings gave more weight to each university or colleges’ energy supply. Other criteria included commitment to sustainability: efficiency, food, academics, purchasing, transportation, waste management, administration, financial investments and other initiatives.
The top ranking school scored an 88.6, and Georgia Tech scored an 80.5 out of a possible 100. Georgia Tech sustainability highlights include LEED certified buildings, sustainable courses, recycling, composting, alternative transportation and water conservation.
Toping the list were Green Mountain College, Dickinson College and Evergreen State College.
