Atlanta's Tree Canopy Update

Contracted by the City of Atlanta, Tony Giarrusso, Associate Director of the Center for Spatial Planning Analytics and Visualization in the College of Design at Georgia Tech, has used satellite imagery to map the City of Atlanta’s tree canopy in 2014. He will discuss project findings and implications of canopy change that occured since his last study in 2008. Come learn about the implications of canopy loss for your neighborhood and how Atlanta’s residents can address tree loss and better advocate for the protection of our community’s trees.
