The intern will support DCA in the administration of the Housing Tax Credit program.
Each year, DCA receives 60+ applications requesting nearly $750 million in financing to build multifamily affordable housing developments throughout the state. In response to these applications, the agency conducts a detailed and comprehensive analysis of each application to ensure that only the best proposed developments are allocated awards.
The responsibilities of the summer intern will include, but are not limited to the following:
Processing and evaluating these applications for funding
Conducting critical policy research across diverse affordable housing or community development topics
Supporting policy development for the Qualified Allocation Plan (the plan that governs the allocation of tax credits)
Open to graduating seniors and graduate students.
The internship dates are flexible, running from May to August. If resources are available, the internship could continue into the school year.
This is a paid, 40 hour/ week position. Availability is preferred during regular office hours (9am‐5pm, Mon‐Fri).
To apply, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter to Chelsea Arkin at chelsea.arkin@dca.ga.gov by April 13, 2018. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
