There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Congratulations to Jonah Bea-Taylor, who has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, “Flood Control and Metropolitan Development in Houston, Miami, and Tampa, 1935 - 1985.” Bea-Taylor will receive his doctorate in early May and continue in his position as a research historian with the History Office of the Army Corps of Engineers.
Thanks to Professors Amsterdam, Flamming, and Krige, who served on his reading committee, along with Professor Jenny Smith (formerly of HSOC, now with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) and John Lonnquest, head of the History Office of the Army Corps of Engineers.
