Join us on Monday, March 5 from 3-5 pm at IPaT (75 5th Street NW, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30308) for a workshop on photography and interviewing. We'll discuss how to capture stories and photos in a responsible and ethical manner using proper technical skills.
The workshop is part of IPaT's Everyday Georgia project in collaboration with the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts, Georgia Tech Library, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Please attend if you're interested in participating in this project as a photographer or interviewer, or just learning more about these thought-provoking topics. We'll also share our progress and next steps with the project.
Workshop description:
Improve your interviewing skills in an introductory workshop on oral history techniques. Oral histories have been used in many disciplines as a research methodology and a unique data artifact that captures an individual's life experience. The workshop will include a brief discussion of the theory and best practices of the oral history interview. Participants will have the opportunity to apply these techniques in interactive exercises.
