The schedule for Georgia Tech’s 2018 Summer Computing Camps has been published.

Topics slated for this summer's camp sessions include web design, robotics, Minecraft, and game design. Other sessions will be dedicated to:

  • Java programming
  • Mobile apps
  • Stop-motion movies
  • Programming games with Unity
  • Computer-generated music

Georgia Tech’s Summer Computing Camps are coordinated each year by the College of Computing and its Office of Outreach, Enrollment, and Community (OEC).

“The mission of our summer camps is to share the creative side of computing with our campers,” said Cedric Stallworth, assistant dean for OEC.

“We don’t necessarily want them all to be computer scientists. Our goal is to stir their curiosity and give them a glimpse of all of the endless creative possibilities that computing holds for them.”

The 10 weeklong sessions are open to rising third-graders that turn eight years old before Sept. 1, 2018, rising college freshmen, and all students in between.

Registration for the 2018 Summer Computing Camp sessions opens at 10 a.m., Feb. 17. The first camp session begins on May 29. The final session begins on July 30.

In 2017, nearly 500 elementary, middle school, and high school students registered in the College’s summer camp program.
