Summaries

Summary Sentence: Speakers will discuss their experiences at University of Victoria’s annual DHSI, taking technical courses from leading experts in critical DH skillsets and platforms

Full Summary:

Join DILAC for a conversation with four lab-affiliated Digital Humanties Summer Institute (http://www.dhsi.org/) attendees.  Speakers will discuss their experiences at University of Victoria’s annual DHSI, taking technical courses from leading experts in critical DH skillsets and platforms.  The conversation aims to give future applicants an idea of the advantages and drawbacks of the experience, and also provide information on attaining funding for the trip here at Georgia Tech.

DHSI consists of two-week long sessions in June, comprised of nearly one-hundred specialized topics for scholars of all skill levels.  Applicants identify the specific course they will attend while in residence at DHSI.  Past DILAC participants have attended courses in Fundamentals of Programming for Humanists, Archives for Digital Humanists, and Developing a Digital Project with Omeka.
