College of Management Dean Steve Salbu has been awarded a research semester, effective Aug. 15-Dec. 31, 2010.

President Bud Peterson and Executive Vice President for Research Steve Cross approved the research semester to allow Salbu to focus on developments in cyberlaw and business ethics, his two primary areas of research and teaching specialization prior to entering administration at the University of Texas in 1990.

Since coming to Georgia Tech in 2006, Salbu has continued to teach throughout the term of his deanship, leaving little time to pursue research activities.

During fall semester, day-to-day operations in the College of Management will be overseen by Senior Associate Dean Sri Narasimhan, who is entering his fourth year as associate dean. Narasimhan will continue to meet regularly with Salbu this fall to coordinate operations and oversee the continued strategic direction and progress of the College of Management. All communications with the College of Management Dean’s Office should be directed through Narasimhan during this time.

Salbu will return to his duties as dean on January 1, 2011.
