Building healthy relationships is a huge part of any college experience. Everyone defines their relationships differently. However, in order for any relationship to be healthy, it requires a few key ingredients! Health Initiatives is partnering with the VOICE peer educators student group to bring you Healthy Relationships Week from February 12th-16th. This week is dedicated to celebrating healthy relationships with one another, whether that be with friends, family, or a romantic partner. Strong relationships are an important aspect of maintaining a healthy and balanced life. When your relationships are strong and fulfilling, your overall health and well-being is improved.
“This week will provide students with the tools they need to succeed and flourish in their interactions with others,” explained Health Initiatives health educator Sarah Morales, MPH,CHES who created the concept for this week. It can be difficult to build healthy relationships, especially with the need for balance between academic and social activities. Healthy Relationships week includes several opportunities to engage with your peers or even make a Valentine for a friend.
This week will begin on February 13th and include opportunities for students, faculty and staff to participate in a variety of fun activities that center around healthy relationships at the Campus Service’s Carnivale in the Student Center. Stop by one of our outreach events or join us for a coffee talk where you can grab a free coffee and bagel and engage in “real talk” with your peers about dating and relationships at Tech.
