Museum founder Dard Hunter traveled around the world investigating and documenting hand papermaking techniques and traditions. The results of his travels were distilled into books which introduced audiences to the world of paper. Hunter wrote twenty books on papermaking, eight of which are wholly hand made. From encyclopedic tomes to volumes on specific places and traditions, Hunter’s knowledge continues to be accessible today. This exhibit explores the works produced as well as the work necessary to produce these important volumes.

The exhibit is open through Friday, June 1, 2018.
