Currents: Illuminating the Past, Defining the Present, and Shaping the Future
An exhibit of scholarly books authored by faculty in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts
The exhibit showcases the range, depth, and influence of research by current and emeritus Ivan Allen College faculty through recent books, those that are seminal or award-winning in their field, or that illuminate local and regional history. Topics encompass energy and environment, future media, governance, health and medicine, infrastructure, internet governance, narrative culture, national security, sports, sustainable development, and transportation.
The books are grouped according to schools within the College. In addition to single and co-authored books, the exhibit includes a timeline of the history of liberal arts at Georgia Tech, books by College namesake Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. and his father who were influential in shaping the destiny of Atlanta, and a display of books on the history of Georgia Tech, Atlanta, and regional history.
