No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Healthy ecosystems are directly linked to the health of the people in them. In this Buzz Course, a skill-building, experiential workshop series open to community members, faculty, and staff, we will examine the health of the Proctor Creek Watershed. Guided by government officials from US Fish and Wildlife (USFW) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), participants will learn to: identify the hallmarks of a healthy stream and engage with watershed history; be trained in using nationally-standardized tools and techniques for monitoring water quality and ecosystem health; collect data as a part of a national, long-term stream monitoring project; and share their findings through the presentation and development of materials which can be used after the course. The workshop will include field trips to local stream sampling sites, where participants may choose to dive-deep into data, or don waders and grab nets to directly take part in the sampling. Participants requiring physical accommodations on-site are welcome; please just let us know the nature of the adjustment we can provide.
