As the spring semester gets underway, many students are already thinking ahead to how they will spend the summer or fall semester. For some, it will be an internship or co-op. Others are on the hunt for full-time employment.

The Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2) is ready for all of them.

This week, C2D2 is preparing for its annual Mock Interviews event, which will take place Jan. 17-19. Students can sign up to participate in a mock interview with real employer representatives and get feedback on their performance before an actual job is on the line.

This year, students can choose from the three different interview styles used by recruiters: traditional, behavioral, and technical. They can sign up for a time slot through CareerBuzz.

Students can also participate in a series of upcoming Resume and Career Fair Prep workshops. Three sessions will take place:

  • Thursday, Jan. 18
    11 a.m. – noon
President’s Suite B, Bill Moore Student Success Center
  • Thursday, Jan. 18
    5 – 6 p.m.
Clary Theatre, Bill Moore Student Success Center
  • Tuesday, Jan. 23
    5 – 6 p.m.
Clary Theatre, Bill Moore Student Success Center

All of these events lead up to the Spring All Majors Career Fair, which will take place Thursday, Jan. 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in McCamish Pavilion.

A few things prospective attendees should know about the fair:

  • No registration is required.
  • Wear business attire.
  • Bring many copies of your resume — you will want to be able to hand one to every representative you speak with.
  • You can have your resume included in a Georgia Tech resume book provided to employers attending the fair. That way, employers can see your resume even if you don’t get to speak with them at the fair. Include yours by logging into CareerBuzz and clicking on RSVP under the Events tab, then “Career Fairs.”
  • Campus Closet provides students with business attire who otherwise may not be able to afford it. Learn more at campuscloset.gatech.edu.
