ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Heritage Sandy Springs (www.heritagesandysprings.org) is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to build community by preserving and promoting the historic and cultural identity of Sandy Springs. Founded in 1985 to oversee the preservation of the Sandy Springs Historic Site and Park and the restoration of the Williams-Payne House, Heritage Sandy Springs offers a variety of educational, cultural, and heritage programs and events for the community, including the Sandy Springs Festival and Concerts by the Springs. The organization manages a 3.8 acre city-owned park in the heart of the business district that includes green space gardens with a gazebo bandstand, the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, the original spring site, a terraced Entertainment Lawn, research library, archive, and meeting/event venues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Museum Education Intern will support the Director of Historic Resources and Education Programs with adult and children’s programming. The Museum Education Intern will perform a variety of tasks such as staffing the Museum and conducting tours, assisting in programs for pre-school age children and students grades K-5 at the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and off-site at local elementary schools. There is potential for assistance in adult lecture series, and the development of teen programming.
