There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

On Friday 14 April, we phoned each of UPS, FedEx, and DHL to carry identical packages to our contacts in:

  1. Ouagadougou: the capital city of Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta; in central Africa)
  2. Split, Croatia: home of the Palace of Diocletian
  3. Surabaya, Indonesia: Largest city on East Java

The packages have been picked up and are now en route. You can follow the race and (eventually) see the final results at http://www.warehouse-science.com/

You are invited to join the class Thursday 20 April, 9:30-11am in IC205, when Mark Sobolewski, VP of International Strategy at UPS, will visit ISyE 6202 to discuss issues of international freight and to describe how UPS handled our packages.
