Congratulations to Paul McKittrick for the successful defense of his PhD dissertation! Last Friday (Dec. 1), Paul defended his dissertation, titled "Modernity and the Spirit of the Sea: Maritime Influences on Early Modern English State Institutions and Society, 1485-1763."

Kristie Macrakis served as the chair of Paul's dissertation committee, which also included Carla Gerona, John Krige, John Tone, and Nick Wilding (Georgia State University).
