There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

HSOC Alum Nathan Moon (Ph.D.- HSTS, 2009) received a three-year, $600,000 grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) to conduct research on contingent employment of people with disabilities.
The project is intended to provide empirical evidence about the participation of people with disabilities who may be contractors, freelancers, day laborers, and agency temps, as well as within the so-called gig economy. More information on the project can be found here.
Nathan has also been promoted to Senior Research Scientist and has been given the title Director of Research.
