The School of Modern Languages is pleased to offer a career education course designed specifically for students focusing on languages and cultures.
This course explores how to design and pursue a meaningful career in language, culture, and communication. We will discuss how the world of work is changing in the information age, how expertise in language and culture can contribute to the “wicked problems” of the 21st century, and how to get started on your own path.
Students will learn the latest tools and best practices of Life Design as they prototype a starter kit for lifelong career growth. They will workshop both translational tools (e.g. resume) and strategic materials (e.g. a 10-year plan) to put their goals into action.
Designed for Modern Languages majors, this course explores a variety of career paths that require expertise in language, culture and intercultural communication—such as international business, non-profit, media, government, sustainability, and others based on students’ professional interests.
ML 2811 is open to all majors in Modern Languages (ALIS, IAML, GEML). Non-majors can sign up for a Permit Request here: http://tinyurl.com/ML2811signup
