MEET GEORGIA TECH’S 2017 ASTRONAUT SCHOLARS
Sophia’s research is currently centered on how to depress the immunogenicity of virus-like particles (VLPs) so they may be utilized as a novel drug delivery platform. After graduation, she plans to pursue MD/PhD to study musculoskeletal inflammatory responses & healing.
Michael is an undergraduate researcher at Georgia Tech’s High Power Electric Propulsion Lab (HPEPL). At HPEPL, Tech faculty and students investigate the performance of Hall Effect thrusters in two state of the art vacuum facilities. His is also the propulsion team lead for the Yellow Jacket Space Program. This team is developing a 3,000 lbf
kerosene, liquid oxygen rocket engine.
