The Atlanta Inn of Court, a professional association of intellectual property (IP) professionals, will be hosting a meeting on campus with GT Pre-Law Advising in order to give Tech students and alumni the opportunity to learn more about intellectual property law and to meet IP professionals in the area. IP professionals include those that work in patents, trademarks, copyrights, and more. Students from all majors and levels are welcome. Post-docs and alumni are also invited.
Schedule:
· 5pm-6pm: Panel Discussion - From Georgia Tech, to Law School, and Beyond
o Tech alumni will discuss the transition from Georgia Tech to law school and share their career experiences.
· 6pm-7pm: Inn of Court Reception
o Join members of the Inn for drinks (non-alcoholic if under 21) and hors d'oeuvres
· 7pm-8pm: Inn of Court Winter Presentation
o Members of the Inn provide an entertaining presentation on the IP issues faced by start-up companies. Discover what start-ups do right—and wrong—in trying to get their venture off the ground.
About the Inn: The Atlanta IP Inn of Court is an organization of Atlanta judges, lawyers, law professors, and law students all focused on Intellectual Property. The Inn meets approximately once a month to socialize and to hold programs and discussions on matters of ethics, skills, and professionalism relevant to IP attorneys.
