A team of Georgia Tech engineering students recently came out on top in a competition to build a high-speed racing vehicle on a low-speed budget.

Wreck Racing won the Grassroots Motorsports $2017 Challenge on Oct. 24 in Gainesville, Florida, where 40 teams built cars on a budget of just $2,017. Georgia Tech's team won with a Subaru-powered Honda Insight. The team placed seventh in last year's competition.

Cars were judged not only on speed, but on aesthetics. Read the full report from Grassroots Motorsports.
