Summary Sentence: Call for Abstracts

Full Summary: The Georgia Life Sciences Summit, Innovation for a Healthier World...Meeting the Challenge, will be held October 28, 2010 at the AmericasMart Atlanta in Georgia. The Summit is considered the preeminent gathering of scientists and industry decision makers

This year, reflecting Innovation for a Healthier World...Meeting the Challenge, Georgia Bio (GaBio) is excited to be expanding our conference to reflect agriculture, food nutrition, bioenergy, and industrial production in addition to our traditional focus on biomedicines. We are confident this expanded scope will offer unique opportunities for enhancing the networking and learning opportunities from diverse interests which share an underlying common biotechnological approach to problem solving.

The Executive Committee invites the submission of abstracts from Georgia-based scientists and entrepreneurs for this year’s poster session. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the conference website at www.gabio.org/summit2010 by Friday, September 17, 2010. This opportunity to participate in the Poster Session is open to representatives from Georgia-based academia, research institutes and biotech entrepreneurs, and we especially encourage students and post-doctoral fellows to participate.

Abstracts will be subject to the same scientific review as for any national or regional meeting. The scientific content of poster presentations should reflect the following categories:

• Agricultural Biotechnology • Bioenergy

• Cell Therapy & Tissue Engineering • Drug Discovery and Development

• Food and Nutrition • Industrial Production

• Medical Technology and Devices • Molecular and Biological Research

• Nanotechnology

For student, post-doctoral or non-profit organization abstracts selected, the corresponding author of each poster will receive complimentary registration to the Summit. In addition, posters submitted by students will be eligible for a limited number of poster awards.
