Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URA) are selected each year to represent the UROP program and undergraduate research at Georgia Tech. They are from various majors and research areas.
The ambassadors have developed several programs to help students find undergraduate research opportunities and to nurture those that are already participating in research. In cooperation with student government, URA hosted the first Undergraduate Research Fair in Spring 2017 with more than 150 students attending. This fair was designed to allow labs; faculty and graduate students share their research with undergraduate students and actively recruit for the upcoming fall semester. We held the fair again in Fall 2017 with great success and will host one in Spring 2018 on April 11.
They have also developed a series of workshops on the following topics: Presentation Skills, Library Resources and Research, Adding Research to your Resume, and How to Write a Literature Review. These are held over a two-week period for the Fall and Spring.
For students who are interested in just speaking with an ambassador, they can come during the weekly office hours or contact an ambassador via our webpage.
