IAC 4811 A: Career Development
F 3:00 - 4:15 PM
This course runs for the first 9 weeks of the semester.
Ivan Allen College is offering a one credit career development course exclusively for students majoring within the college in spring 2018. The accelerated and advanced career course will prepare liberal arts students for a successful transition to the workforce. The best practices of a career search will be discussed and practiced in exacting detail in relation to social media, resumes, interviews, relationship building, and business etiquette. The course will be facilitated by IAC’s new career specialist, Garrett Bunyak, and guest instructors will provide additional insider expertise as to the skills, qualities, and backgrounds they look for in hiring liberal arts majors. Students in junior standing will likely derive the most benefit from the course as they prepare to ramp up job search efforts in their senior year, but students at all levels can enroll with permission. Students completing the course should have tremendous confidence in their future career search strategy and activities.
