No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The annual Peach State LSAMP "STEM Innovators" conference was held in Marietta,GA in October 2017. Hosted by Kennesaw State University, the Peach State LSAMP alliance is comprIsed of the following institutions: Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, Fort Valley State University, Savannah State University, Georgia State University-Perimeter College, and Kennesaw State University. LSAMP is a National Science Foundation funded initiative to increase the number of qualified under represented minority students who pursue STEM degrees. The Georgia Tech chapter funds 40 students as part of the larger Peer 2 Peer mentoring program. The LSAMP scholars participate in undergraduate research, professional development, and peer mentoring.
This October, 20 GT-LSAMP students attended the conference and 6 students presented their research. All 6 students were presented with awards. They are:
