From A to Zebra Finch: Evolutionary & Behavioral Genomics in Songbirds

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: A Biological Sciences Seminar by Chris Balakrishnan, Ph.D.

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Abstract
Songbirds display a dazzling diversity of social behaviors. With the increasing accessibility of genomic data, songbirds also provide a unique opportunity to study the mechanisms underlying differences in behavior. Drawing insights from ongoing studies in the Balakrishnan Lab, this talk will highlight patterns of inter- and intraspecific diversity in behavior. The talk will focus on variation in parental care and song learning behavior, and will highlight ongoing efforts aimed at better understanding the genomic underpinnings of these behaviors.

Host: Soojin Yi
