Please join us at our next DATHA meeting on Tuesday, October 17th. In this meeting, Jon Sanford and Susan Lee, both of CATEA, will discuss their recently funded 3-year field-initiated grant ($200,000/year) from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The purpose of the grant is to investigate the effectiveness of currently existing assistive technology and design interventions for individuals aging with disability and their caregivers, in order to generate an evidence base for design criteria for interventions that will meet the specific toilet transfer needs of the dyadic target population. It is anticipated that this study will serve as a demonstration project providing the impetus for new investigations and technologies targeted at dyad-centered assistive technology and design interventions, in general. After an overview of the grant, there will be an opportunity for participants to offer feedback about the grant and hear about how they could get involved in the project.
