IEEE SP ATLANTA - HIGHER-ORDER DATA REPRESENTATIONS AND APPLICATIONS TO BRAIN CONNECTIVITY BY PROF. SELIN AVIYENTE

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter of Atlanta is honored to host Prof. Selin Aviyente

Prof. Selin Aviyente from Michigan State University will present an exciting lecture titled "Higher-Order Data Representation and Applications to Brain Connectivity"

October 10, 2017, 11:30 am - 1 pm

Technology Square Research Building (TSRB), Auditorium

Georgia Tech

In this lecture, Prof. Aviyente will present a tensor-based framework for data reduction and low-dimensional structure learning. In particular, she will present a robust low-rank & sparse linear structure learning algorithms for tensors; a multi-scale, locally linear adaptive tensor decomposition for compressing tensor data and a tensor based framework for community detection in multi-layer, dynamic networks. Dr. Aviyente will illustrate the applications of this framework on neuroimaging and brain connectivity with a particular focus on reducing dynamic functional connectivity networks into physiologically meaningful network components.
