Society For Biomaterials’ 2018

The theme for the 2018 Annual Meeting is Exploring the Nexus of Research and Application. Since its founding, Atlanta has been a hub of commerce and transportation, known for bringing together diverse people and ideas.  Similarly, the Society has a long history of being the hub for multidisciplinary materials research and applied solutions for healthcare.  Atlanta thus provides the perfect backdrop for the 2018 Society for Biomaterials annual meeting, which will act as a “nexus” to further opportunities for collaboration across diverse scientific disciplines, from biology and material science, to chemistry, physics, medicine and engineering.

The Society’s Annual Meeting focuses on fostering development of new implant materials and devices for improvement of the human condition. The meeting program will include the latest innovations in materials science, molecular and cell biology and engineering, and new opportunities and mechanisms for translation of these findings to new or improved medical treatments.  The meeting format will include Symposia, General Sessions, Workshops, Panel Discussions, and Tutorials, covering all aspects of basic, applied, and translational biomaterials science.
