Mallory Flowers, a doctoral student in Georgia Tech’s School of Public Policy, recently received the 2017 Association for Public Policy and Management (APPAM) Ph.D. Dissertation Award. The School of Public Policy is a unit in the Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. She will be honored at the Presidential Address and Awards Ceremony in downtown Chicago on November 3. For her work, Flowers will receive a $1,500 cash award and publication of an abstract in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management.
Flowers’ dissertation, completed this past July, examines green certification behavior, drawing on a unique dataset on the technologies and practices used in the built environment. The insights developed throughout the study have implications for the design of voluntary and information-based policy approaches, sustainable planning, and strategic management.
Flowers completed her dissertation in the summer of 2017, and has accepted a postdoctoral position at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. There, she will continue developing the theoretical foundations and empirical extensions of her scholarly work.
The APPAM is a national organization dedicated to improving public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis, and education.
