After jumping two spots last year, the Georgia Institute of Technology maintained its number 34 ranking in the 2018 Best Colleges undergraduate rankings of national universities by U.S. News & World Report. Georgia Tech remained U.S. News & World Report’s seventh-ranked public university in the nation for individual undergraduate programs.

“We are very proud of our outstanding programs in engineering, along with business, computing, design, liberal arts and sciences,” said Georgia Tech President G. P. “Bud” Peterson.  “Annual rankings are yet another measure in our goal to provide outstanding educational opportunities in an innovative environment.”

For the second consecutive year Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering ranked fourth for undergraduate engineering programs at institutions that award doctoral degrees. The college also continued with solid rankings for its engineering programs, with all of its programs ranked in the top 10 of their disciplines and in the top five among public institutions.

Georgia Tech’s undergraduate biomedical engineering degree program as well as undergraduate degrees from the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering remained No. 1, while environmental engineering moved from fourth to second.

Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business moved up one position to 31 among best undergraduate business programs.

Among other specialized categories, Georgia Tech ranked No. 12 in “Most Innovative,” and it moved up one to No. 22 in the High School Guidance Counselor Ranking.

“Georgia Tech is committed to providing exceptional experiences for our students, both in and out of the classroom,” said Provost Rafael L. Bras. “That dedication is evident among our outstanding faculty. They continue to innovate their educational methods, push the boundaries between disciplines in research, and redefine the curricular and co-curricular activities that afford each student next-generation skills to solve next-generation challenges.”
