Unite For Sight’s Global Impact Corps engages students in sustainable, long-term, community based programs where they have the opportunity to learn from, support and assist local professionals.  Unite For Sight (www.uniteforsight.org) scales overall impact on global health delivery by developing and nurturing the next generation of global health leaders. This film highlights global health programs that are designed for university students, advisors, and faculty.

This program is particularly interesting for students interested in public health, medicine, social entrepreneurship, or international development.

These unpaid internships are available in varied lengths.  A conservative estimate of the cost for lodging, airport pick-up, and food for 6 weeks ranges from $1500 to $2000 depending on whether the volunteer is in a single or a double room. A conservative estimate of the cost for lodging, airport pick-up, and food for 8 weeks ranges from $1950 to $2500 depending on whether the volunteer is in a single or a double room.  Additionally, students are required to fundraise $1,800 for Unite For Sight's international eye care programs. This tax-deductible donation is an essential part of a volunteer's contribution to patients living in extreme poverty, and this donation is in lieu of any administrative program fees. In contrast to all other volunteer abroad organizations, Unite For Sight does not have an administrative program fee. Unite For Sight operates in a very cost-effective manner so that the organization does not need to pass along typical administrative and volunteer coordination expenses to its volunteers.

Students may apply 3-12-months before the intended departure date.

Research opportunities may also be available.
