CONNECT WITH TECH
The best way for a prospective student to evaluate a college or university is to spend time with its students, attend an actual class, stay overnight in a residence hall, and experience the facilities on a normal class day. Georgia Tech offers all of these opportunities, plus more, through the Connect With Tech (CWT) overnight visitation program for high-achieving prospective freshmen.
Who is invited?
Attendance at CWT sessions is by invitation only and is limited to students having SAT combined math and critical reading scores of 1230 (or ACT of 29) for all attendees. Student participants should also have a high school GPA of at least 3.3. If you meet these criteria and would like to be mailed an invitation to CWT, email us at admission@gatech.edu; please be sure to include your name, address, SAT I/ACT scores, and high school GPA. A CWT registration form can be downloaded in PDF format here.
The Program
Annually, eight sessions are held between September and April, each one hosting approximately 80 students plus their parents.
Separate but concurrent programs are provided for parents and students to permit each group to concentrate on items in which they are most interested. Through information sessions, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions, tours, meals, and social events, students and parents are given an opportunity to interact with faculty, administrators, and current students. Topics such as academic information, financial aid, housing, campus security, health services, co-op education, admissions, and other areas of interest to the college-seeker are covered in detail, each offering a time for questions.
Students and parents who attend Connect With Tech are enthusiastic in their praise of the program - for the information they receive, the quality of the presentations, and the dedication and knowledge of the students who assist.
Mandatory Waiver
All students attending an overnight program at Georgia Tech are required to sign a waiver of liability form.
Alumni & Friends of Georgia Tech - Help Us Spread the Word
Georgia Tech alumni and friends, as well as educators from around the country, play a key role in publicizing the Connect With Tech program and identifying potential participants. Please share Connect With Tech information with any student who meets the parameters stated above.
