Jennifer Sample, a French minor and French LBAT participant, will discuss using foreign language and intercultural communication skills in her career and answer questions from students. Georgia Tech Class of 2015 - B.S. Business Administration, Concentration in Human Capital, Minor in French
Jennifer began her career with Caterpillar, Inc. after graduating in 2015. She is in her final rotation in the Human Resources Professional Development Program, a three year development program focused on building future Caterpillar leaders. Upon her completion, Jennifer will receive a final placement and is excited to continue growing her career.
Throughout this time, Jennifer has had a variety of HR roles including: Corporate, Business Unit, and Shared Services. In each role she has been involved in leading several projects including creating Global HR Diversity & Inclusion training, helping lead a facility closure, HR data analytics, translations, and now helping lead the Microsoft Office 365 implementation to the Enterprise while leading recruiting efforts at Georgia Tech. Jennifer likes being involved at Caterpillar and also serves as the Global Development Chair for the Young Professionals of Caterpillar, an Employee Resource Group.
When she was a Yellow Jacket, Jennifer co-oped for Delta Air Lines in the Technical Operations Division as an HR Co-Op and served as a missionary to help the homeless in Atlanta. Jennifer enjoyed giving back to the GT community by being involved in Team in Training, the Georgia Tech Catholic Center, tutoring student athletes, and helping start the French Club. Jennifer also studied abroad in Paris, France.
Jennifer grew up in Guadalajara MX and moved around the United States several times as a child. After graduation, she has lived in Peoria IL, Jacksonville FL, and is currently located in Atlanta GA. Jennifer has run multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. In her spare time, Jennifer likes to travel, run, and spend time with her friends and pet birds (Duckie and Petrie) and goldfish (Picasso).
