The Office of Undergraduate Admission is seeking current undergraduates to help in recruiting Hispanic students to Georgia Tech.

The Hispanic Recruitment Team (HRT) works closely with Undergraduate Admission, playing an important role in the recruitment process by helping prospective Hispanic students connect with students on campus who can share stories about life at Tech.

HRT members participate in three to four events per semester, including tailgates and other social activities with prospective students, mingling with visitors in the Admission office, and phone and email campaigns.

“I love the ability to educate potential students about the great opportunities Georgia Tech offers, in order to help them make a very important decision in their lives,” said Mauricio Rojas, executive president of HRT and a biomedical engineering major. “Not only do I help others by sharing why Tech is a great place for them, but it has made me appreciate all the efforts that Tech makes to get the best students in the world here and the opportunities that it has to offer to current students.”

First-year students can join HRT through FresHRT. Participants are mentored throughout their first year and participate in HRT events and activities, and will get to know fellow FresHRT and HRT members. Interested first-year students should apply online by Monday, Sept. 4. Applicants will be contacted for interviews.

Upperclassmen can join HRT by attending the first general meeting of the semester on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. in President’s Suites A and B, Bill Moore Student Success Center.
